The
Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan presents, in collaboration with
BOSCH, a unique musical experience with the reputed
Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra (SCO).
Founded by
Karl Münchinger in
1945, the SCO has held a prominent position in the international orchestral world for some seven decades. The SCO has since its inception a unique tradition as cultural ambassador of Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg and Germany. It is widely regarded as one of the finest chamber orchestras, famous for its colourful and virtuoso sound. It performs around 90 concerts a year all over the world together with the most famous artistic partners.
The SCO looks back on a long India tradition: The orchestra will be in India in 2019 for the fifth time. The concert programme includes a variety of classical masterpieces: Under the direction of concert master
Bogdan Božović the SCO will play works of
German composers Bach and
Brahms as well as the
world premiere of
Vistar, a commissioned work of the renowned Indian composer
Sandeep Bhagwati. In Bangalore and Mumbai the SCO will perform this piece together with musicians from India.
The Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra is supported by the State of Baden-Wuerttemberg, the City of Stuttgart and Robert Bosch GmbH.
