We are happy to partner once again with the Moving Waters Film Festival (MWFF) for its 4th edition. This volunteer-driven, completely free film festival which is designed to promote awareness and love for our rivers and oceans takes place at the Bhavan.

Our beautiful blue planet is more than two thirds water, yet we know very little beyond the edges of land. Knowledge of what lies beneath the oceans and rivers that bring us life is increasingly important, but often these ecosystems are damaged or destroyed before we can find out more. Poorly understood and highly threatened – this is the story of the blue in our blue planet.

The Moving Waters Film Festival brings the latest ocean & river-related issues to the public eye. As the first exclusively ocean & river-themed film festival, we hope to bridge research, exploration, conservation and filmmaking in India.

This two-day festival will feature independent films from filmmakers around the world. Our carefully curated selection will also showcase Indian filmmakers who have documented India’s rivers and marine ecosystems, their biodiversity and communities. Film screenings are interspersed with inspiring talks by explorers, activists, scientists and conservationists. Our selection will inspire, entertain, educate, and encourage active participation in ocean & river exploration and conservation.

In addition, Bangalore theatre-maker and ex bangaloREsident-Expanded Nisha Abdulla from Ever After Learning will take the youngsters among us on a storytelling journey on Saturday October 19 at 6.45 p.m., and there will be a special performance from Vasu Dixit on Sunday October 20 at 5.45 p.m.
