(Degree Of Murder)
Director: Volker Schlöndorff, colour, 87 min., 1966/67
A young woman accidentally shoots her ex-boyfriend. Instead of going to the police, she hires a stranger to help dispose of the body. The man calls in an additional friend, and the three head off on a country trip to bury the corpse. DEGREE OF MURDER is one of the major works of the 1960s "Young German Film" movement, and retains its freshness and spontaneity to this day.
