Travelling Plants


Travelling Plants is a transdisciplinary project curated by Lina Vincent and led by the Goethe-Institut, in collaboration with the Alliance Française of Madras and the Institut Français de Pondichéry (IFP). This multiphase project commenced with a residency at IFP followed by a series of exhibitions across India and Sri Lanka.

In New Delhi, Travelling Plants brings together visual and research-focused artists Karolina Grzywnowicz (Germany), Wendy Therméa (Reunion Island, France), Waylon D’souza (India), and Rashmimala (India) who were selected on their artistic practices that intersect with the natural world.

Curator of the Exhibition: Lina Vincent


Lina Vincent is an independent art historian and curator with two decades experience in arts management. She has curated numerous exhibitions with galleries across India and contributes to publications on art history and contemporary cultural practices. Lina has a BFA in printmaking from Bangalore University and MFA in Art History from the same institution.

Travelling Plants is a transdisciplinary project curated by Lina Vincent and led by Goethe-Institut Chennai, in collaboration with Alliance Française of Madras and Institut Français de Pondichéry (IFP). In New Delhi, the exhibition is being shown with FICA Reading Room and is accompanied by an exciting side programme, featuring a symposium, workshop, foraging walk, and more.

Field Notes for a Future Commons | Symposium on Art & Ecology


The symposium, Field Notes for a Future Commons, will bring together key conversants in the field of contemporary art and creative practices, imagined as an activation in response to these enquiries, opening up a space of dialogue across artistic, ecological, and site-specific perspectives.

Listening Where Trees Lament: A Soundwalk/Workshop on Malarkey


The workshop extends into a collective process of listening, recording,and reimagining. Beginning with a walk at Mehrauli Archaeological Park and ending at FICA. As a participant, you are requested to bring your laptops/ipads and a pair of earphones as you will be working with sound.

Inviting registrations for a walkthrough at Farm8 with artist–permaculturist Rashmi Kaleka and architect–designer Vidya Tongbram, followed by a conversation with artist Gyanwant Yadav and farmers Shyam Singh Prajapati, Rajbir Prajapati, and Indra Dev Sharma from Chila Khadar village on farming the Yamuna floodplains.
