Are there any specific qualifications required to join the courses?

There is no specific qualification required to join the course. However this particular course is aimed at nursing professionals who have either finished their nursing course or are currently enrolled in one.

Will the course be offered offline?

All our courses are presently being offered in online mode as online live sessions along with an independent online learning component on the online learning platform of the Goethe-Institut. These will, however, completely return to classroom (face to face) sessions once classroom learning is permitted again as per Government Directives.

What are the technical requirements?

For attending the online live sessions, you will need the following: Computer/ Laptop/ Tablet/ Smartphone (any one) Internet connection Headphones with mic

What is the age criterion for the enrolment in the courses?

The minimum age to join the courses is 17 years.

Why is the course fees higher than the regular course fee for the A1 level?

The course fees is higher the regular course fees, since this is not a regular language course. The course content is carefully planned to also include situations encountered by nurses in everyday life as part of their profession. This course also includes a special inter cultural module to help you better integrate with the life and culture in Germany.

What is the course duration? Is it uniform throughout?

The total course is for a duration of ten weeks. The first phase is for eight weeks during which the classes will be held every day, Monday to Friday, for 3 hours. In the second phase, comprising of the last two weeks, the classes will be held for 6 hours every day, Monday to Friday.

Will I learn only the language in the course?

No. This course is specially designed so that you learn basics of the language, as well as everyday expressions and information about life in Germany. Since it has been specially designed for nursing professionals you will get an insight into the life and work of nursing professionals in Germany and get an introduction to some the specialised terms and standard practices and procedures followed by German hospitals and nursing homes.

Is the fee same whether the course is offered through online classes or offline classes?

Yes, the fee is same for the year 2021.

What would be the mode of payment?

The course will be booked via the Language-Course Office and the payment can be done online via a payment link through Master Card and Visa Debit and Credit cards.

Is the fee including the study material?

No. The books have to be purchased separately by the students. GoyalSaab Publishers are providing home delivery service, all over India, to deliver the books for a nominal delivery charge. ( For ordering books please refer to the PDF under Contact and Enrolment )

Are the teachers native Germans or Indians?

The teachers here at Max Mueller Bhavan are Indians as well as native Germans.

Do you also provide the demo classes / trial session?

Since the course is conducted in 2 phases, can I take a break in between phases?

No. The course is designed to be undertaken in a seamless manner, without any interruptions or breaks.

Can I cancel or change my booking?

In case of cancellations following deductions are applicable: Upto 4 weeks before beginning of course 10% of course fee Upto 1 week before beginning of course 20% of course fee Upto 1 day before beginning of course 30% of course fee After course begins 100% of course fee. Please Note: Cancellations must be submitted in writing and refunds shall be initiated within 30 days after receipt of the written cancellation request. If enrolments are insufficient on the starting date, the Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan reserves the right to cancel or postpone the course. This is a great opportunity for qualified nursing professionals as well as those still undergoing training. Course Objective

This course is the first in the series of programmes that will be offered by us to prepare you for a life as a nursing professional in Germany with just the right blend of language, culture, social norms and practices.

Miles and Smiles with Goethe - Nursing Professionals in Germany

The course consists of two phases

Phase 1
In this phase, which lasts approx. 7 weeks, the participants are initiated into the basics of the German language at the A1 level of the "Common European Framework of Reference for Languages". The course is conducted in a very interactive manner, with a number of group activities, game based learning and practice exercises.

After the 7 week language training program, the participants will be totally immersed in learning about the culture of Germany along with intercultural sensitization. Here the focus will be on the difference in life and work ethics in Germany and India. There will also be dedicated communication training with the goal of improving pronunciation, with the help of real life situations. This phase will be a 2 week intensive learning phase.
