"Steel bridges connect people and places, just like taxi drivers do. Having left declining factories, they moved from steel to wheel. Unknowingly, they have built their own safety net. Now they watch former oilrigs become skeletons, dislocated and undone. Slow decay renders its subjects ever more vivid. Insides become tangible, visible, audible: Breathing heavily, they crack and creak.

Unconcrete noise emerges from concrete blocks, entangled in metal wires, hollow tubes and unfamiliar structures. The entrails of a glorious past. The unsinkable ship ended up at the bottom of the sea, they say. At times, durable steel can be the most fragile thing."      - Katharina Küster
