On the road with Rahel in Leipzig
What is “upcycling”? And what does “analog” printing mean?
This time around, Rahel goes to Leipzig. At the Ökofete (i.e. “Eco-Fête”) she talks to Leipzig’s Fair Fashion Lab about “fair fashion” and “upcycling”. Then, at the Druckkunstmuseum, Leipzig’s museum of the history of printing, Rahel learns all about the historical importance of the printing trade in Leipzig and even gets to operate an old printing press herself.
This time around, Rahel’s off to Leipzig. After a good look at a statue of Goethe, she talks to members of the Fair Fashion Lab, gets to swap clothes and upcycle used fabrics herself, and learns a lot about trending “fair fashion” and less costly alternatives to fast fashion. Then it's off to the Museum of Printing, where Rahel gets to operate an old printing press and learns why Leipzig’s history is so closely bound up with the printer’s trade.
