Celebrate German Unity with Goethe Pop Up Seattle + “…and the winners are…”
October 3rd is the Day of German Unity, which marks the reunification of East and West Germany at the end of the Cold War. Goethe Pop Up Seattle is celebrating with a launch party for Goethe-Institut and the German Film Academy’s film festival “…and the winners are…”, coming to town from October 18th to 22nd.
“…and the winners are…” showcases feature films, documentaries, and short films that represent the diversity, history, and progress of German language filmmaking. The opening night film on October 18th highlights life in the GDR. All films selected were winners or nominees for either the prestigious German Film Awards 2019 or the First Steps Awards 2018.
During our launch party, after a sneak peak of the official film festival lineup at 7pm, we will present a short film program to get you warmed up for “…and the winners are…”.
Ticket sales for the festival will be released through Seattle International Film Festival and Northwest Film Forum the night of the party.
