Revamp your reading list by exchanging your old favorite books for new ones! The Goethe-Institut Washington and the DC Public Library will host a book swap evening that encourages all participants to bring in books they’d like to find new homes for – and to take some new books home with them. We will also offer book-related games and activities (including „Bring Your Own Book,“ book charades, and „The Paperback Game“), live acoustic music from local singer-songwriter Adam Zeitlin, and a photo corner for taking creative portraits with book covers.

Please bring in 1-5 books that are particularly important to you, with a short note stuck to or inside each book that explains why it is so special. By the end of the evening, we hope that all books will be „rehomed“. We ask that all books you have brought which have not found new ownership return back home with you until a future book swap. Books in all languages and of all genres are welcome.

Stick around for information on our Goethe Book Club, BOOKS FIRST and #WunderbarTogether, and our upcoming Zeitgeist Literature Festival.

Light refreshments will be available.

Musician Bio:

"Adam Zeitlin is a local musician/singer/songwriter, who writes about the people, experiences, and thoughts he has had in his expansive twenty-three years of DC-adjacent life; from those of love and loss, to those of mental turmoil, to those of wanting to be a frog, his songs are personal with personality, from a person with personalities."
