Series of showcase display, an opening workshop, a movie show & a professional forum

The series of showcase display, an opening workshop, a movie show & a professional forum aim to improve future sustainable building environment in Vietnam. It focuses on construction objectives that ensure comfort, local culture and environmental friendliness through practical exchange, partnership development & solution findings to meet the needs and trends of Vietnam’s construction market.

“BUILDING FOR ALL. FOR US – OUR COMMUNITY – NEXT GENERATION TOGETHER”

Building for All. Human – Culture – Environment is an initiative of Vietnam Energy Efficiency Network (EEN-Vietnam), supported by the Goethe-Institut, co-organized with United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) & INAX.

There are Exhibitors including Technal, Vu Phong Solar, V-Architecture, Takashi Niwa Architects (NIWAA), La Library learning-center of sustainable living, International Building Performance Simulation Association Vietnam (IBPSA-Vietnam) and Vietnam Sustainable Social Enterprise (VSSE) & accompanied by media partner Ashui.com

Practical high quality has become the highest requirement for all stakeholders in construction industry market partically since the current "new normal" condition. Presently, this field consumes more than 35% of the global industry. "The construction industry will need to build an average 13,000 buildings every day through 2050” (Source: The market-research firm was published by Statista, 2018). In the context of the industry carries a lot of responsibility for tackling climate change, environmental pollution and the decline in cultural diversity.

Firstly, many buildings do not meet the conditions for users’ health and human comfort. For example, 90% of their living time consumers spend indoor, but actually about 4.3 million people die from household air pollution every year (Source: A guide to healthier homes and a healthier planet was published by World Green Building Council, 2018). In particular, The outbreak of COVID-19 evolved into a global pandemic that bring abundant evidence showing the damaging impacts on resident’s health if the space quality and health factors in the building are ignored.

Secondly, there is a decline in cultural diversity in architecture. The rapid and unbalanced development of industrial architecture has been accompanied by a lack of cultural identity and public spaces for the people. The question is whether today's architectural approach and development trends are enough to meet the expectation of modern Vietnamese architecture as well as maintain cultural diversity in architecture in the future?

Thirdly, 36% of global energy consumption and 39% of the energy-related carbon dioxide (CO2) are emitted from buildings (Source: Global status report 2017 was coordinated by United Nations Environment Programme). How can construction methods and technologies improve the balance between the natural environment while constantly improving the quality of construction?

The core point is whether the Vietnam construction market today and in the future will ready for social changes and new ways of operation or requires further innovation of the new methods - new solutions - new materials that fulfill expectations towards sustainability?

The week, from Wednesday 29/07/2020 to Sunday 02/08/2020, offers a series of events involving local and overseas investors, project developers, architects, engineers, technical bodies, consultants, university experts and professional communities and NGOs… interested in sustainable building – providing human comfort, and friendliness towards local culture, natural and social environment. Its objectives are:

  • Share practical experiences and demonstrations by pioneering organizations in the field of construction that currently possess innovative, solutions and superior technology.
  • Promote cooperation among Experts, professional communities, Organizations and Investors having a mutual vision of sustainable building with comfort, local culture, and Environmental friendliness.
  • Discovery new principles, passive and active design strategies fitting to different construction projects by type, scope, location, and quality standard, etc.
