North-India & Nepal
German Teachers' Conference 2024

Every year in India, German Teacher Conferences are held in various parts of the country. These conferences bring together German teachers from schools, universities, colleges, and other institutions to update their knowledge of foreign language teaching methodologies, as well as their understanding of the culture and civilization of German-speaking countries.

These conferences are organised by the Goethe-Institut in cooperation with the Indian German Teachers' Association, InDaF.

About the conference

In cooperation with the Indo-German Teachers' Association InDaF we organize the German Teachers' Conference for teachers from North India and Nepal from 02.08 - 04.08.2024

It is with great anticipation that we invite German teachers to our annual conference, which, as in previous years, will once again be held in a hybrid format.

Our topic for the conference this year is: Man and Machine – AI in the German classroom

Artificial intelligence has transcended science fiction and become a pervasive part of our daily routines – whether through tailored suggestions on streaming platforms, automatic facial recognition on smartphones, or voice assistants in our homes. Also, in the realm of language learning and teaching, AI is indispensable. Rather than shying away from digital progress, it's essential to harness its potential. However, this can only be achieved effectively when we are well-informed about its mechanisms and applications.

We invite you to explore the topic of AI together in informative presentations, interactive workshops, and other programmes. We would like to address questions about the effectiveness and individualization of learning applications, dealing with feedback and error correction as well as ethical aspects and data protection. The topics of accessibility and equal opportunities as well as the changing roles of teachers and learners will also play a central role.

On Friday, 02.08.2024, we will launch the conference online on Zoom so that everyone can connect from anywhere. On Saturday, the programme will be held in presence for all participants at the Taj Hotel Vivanta New Delhi, Dwarka. On Sunday, we will offer additional sessions for selected teachers.

The details at a glance:

  • Friday, 02.08.2024: Online opening on Zoom
  • Saturday, 03.08.2024: Programme at the Taj Vivanta New Delhi, Dwarka
  • Sunday, 04.08.2024: Additional offer for selected teachers at the Taj Vivanta New Delhi, Dwarka
We look forward to your active participation and involvement.
