Guidelines for External candidates

Candidates will get a confirmation Email from the Goethe Institut, Chennai.

Registration date
Candidates are requested to come and pay the fees with the required documents ON the day and time mentioned in the confirmation Email.

External Candidates can pay examination fees by Demand Draft in favour of ''Goethe-Institut Max Mueller Bhavan''

Candidates who have received a confirmation mail can send their documents through courier on or before the mentioned date. The institute reserves all rights to reject the application for Missing documents /Incorrect documents/ documents received after the prescribed courier date.

8.1 The examination fee has to be paid separately on the exam registration dates as per the schedule.

8.2 Internal candidates have to bring their course ID, two photographs and the prescribed exam fee on the scheduled dates, failing which the candidates have to appear as external candidates.

8.3 External candidates have to bring two photographs, photocopy of ID proof (driving license, passport, voter’s ID, Aadhar card) and exam fee. The original ID proof (copy of which was submitted at the time of registration) has to be shown on the day of the examination. Demand drafts are accepted in the name of Goethe-Institut Max Mueller Bhavan payable at Chennai. Misspelt / overwritten / hand-corrected demand drafts and with validity less than three months from the scheduled registration date will not be accepted. All documents sent by post or courier should be received by the Language Department on or before the exam registration date.

8.4 Special arrangements can be made in the case of participants with special needs provided appropriate proof of the need is documented at the time of exam registration.

8.5 No refund / transfers or adjustment of the examination fee is possible.

8.6 Examination certificates will be given within seven working days after the announcement of the examination result and should be collected within two months after the announcement of the results by showing the original hall ticket or other IDs specified above. Should the certificates be collected after two months but not later than four months from the date of the examination, Rs. 2,200/- shall be charged as late fee. The Institute is not responsible for the certificates thereafter.

8.7 In case corrections have to be made to the certificates, a fee of Rs. 2,200/- will be charged.

8.8 Viewing of Exam Papers: The results of the exam- Schreiben /written part alone may be viewed by unsuccessful candidates within two weeks of receiving their exam results. All requests are to be submitted in writing to the exam department, using a prescribed application form along with a fee of Rs. 500/-. The Goethe-Institut Chennai / Max Mueller Bhavan may reject requests that are based on unsatisfactory reasons. Appointments will be given to the candidates on a Friday between 15:00 to 16:00hrs.

9. Liability of the Goethe-Institut

9.1 The liability of the Goethe-Institut Chennai/Max Mueller Bhavan and its staff is limited to intent and gross negligence. Goethe-
Institut Chennai /Max Mueller Bhavan also accepts no liability for the cancellation of services due to force majeure (e.g. Natural
disasters, fire, floods, war, official orders and all other circumstances beyond the control of the contractual parties).
