If you enjoy crafting narratives, creating art, or imagining new worlds, join Girl Gamers, an initiative uniting new media innovation. The project offers a dynamic platform for women game developers across India to design, develop, and launch their game ideas.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Women game developers across India
Solo creators or teams with original game ideas
Projects can be digital or analogue and should explore innovative possibilities

WHO CAN APPLY
Solo female game developers
Women-led game developing pairs or teams (with at least 50% female members)

WHAT TO EXPECT
Mentorship and training sessions led by an accomplished panel of experts
Team-building activities and collaborative creative sessions
Opportunity to present your ideas and projects on a global platform

MENTORS
Prof. Dr. Sonia Fizek – Digital games and media theorist; Professor of Media & Game Studies at the Cologne Game Lab, TH Köln. Her research focuses at the intersection of game studies, media theory, digital cultures, and environmental humanities.
Ms. Mala Sen –  Award winning game designer and creator of A Palace on the Hill, (Niku Games Studio)  recognised for her work in art direction and socially engaged game design.
Dr. Souvik Mukherjee – Associate Professor in Cultural Studies at the Centre for Studies in Social Sciences, Calcutta, and a pioneering Game Studies researcher in India. His research focuses on videogames and storytelling, videogames as colonial and postcolonial media, and gaming cultures in the Indian subcontinent.

SCHEDULE AT A GLANCE
Selection of proposals by an international jury
February 12: Training and expert sessions on storytelling, gameplay dynamics, world-building, and character development
February 13: Game Development Session (9:00 AM – 9:00 PM)
February 14: Game Development Session (9:00 AM – 6:00 PM), followed by pitching and showcasing
Selected games will receive six months of further development support, with two mentored sessions each month
October: Final showcasing
