By the banks of the river Ganges in Benares, the everyday lives of a street photographer and a poet –artist, ebb and flow…with undercurrents of caste, identity, loneliness, livelihood…and the pull of life and death. Both men are linked to the myths of the ancients but imagine them very differently. An original story told with lighthearted playfulness.

‘Last days. Last shot’ was selected by Docwok, an initiative of DOK Leipzig, as one of seven Asian films, went on to have an Indian premiere at Films Division Mumbai and an International premiere in the ‘Indisches Film Festival Stuttgart. The film has won the ‘Best Medium Length Film’ prize at the Scandinavian International Film Festival, Helsinki and was invited for a New York premiere by the Museum of the Moving Image, New York. It was officially selected at the Film South Asia, Java International Film Festival, Religion and Society Today Trento, Italy and is still in the circuit.

Sumira Roy, prior to being a documentary filmmaker had a much awarded advertising career in Ogilvy & Mather and JWT, she has also co-founded an advertising agency, wherein she handled commercial and digital film productions. Roy has also received the Crossing Borders research grant from the Literary Colloquium of Berlin and the Robert Bosch Foundation for making her documentary ‘Wonder Women’ in Germany. She is currently filming a Mumbai based documentary film titled ‘Exit’.
