  • German businesses accounted for almost 11% of the 5.8 million in-sourced jobs in the US in 2012.
  • With about $209 billion as of Year-End 2013 Germany is the 7th largest foreign investor in the US. More than 4,700 companies in the US benefited from German direct investment in 2013.
  • Almost half of the jobs created by German companies are in manufacturing. Among foreign affiliates in the US, German companies provide the 2nd highest number of jobs in this sector. German businesses therefore play a key role in the US efforts to strengthen their industrial base.
  • Most surveyed companies in the US would choose someone with German literacy over an equally qualified candidate.
