Alexander Hacke and
Danielle de Picciotto. Both have been known internationally for their work for decades: the musician and artist Danielle de Picciotto moved from New York to Berlin in 1987 to become a co-initiator of the Love Parade; Alexander Hacke is a founding member and bass player of the legendary experimental/industrial band
Einstürzende Neubauten. The artist couple has worked together creatively on various multi-media projects and has regularly released their own compositions. In 2010, they gave up their home in Berlin and started travelling the world. During these long years of nomadic traveling, numerous tours and related efforts, they have regularly resorted to meditation and yoga, have become vegan, and have stopped smoking and drinking. They realized that their journey requires an inner transformation to successfully reach their goal. Accordingly, their music also changed. Asked by fans if they could compose a soundtrack suitable for meditation or yoga practice, they released the meditation soundtracks UNITY in 2016 and JOY in 2018.
The hour-long music performance is preceded by an interview with the artist couple on the effects that the current social distancing has on their lives as artists and their nomadic lifestyle, and life at large. Afterwards, we invite you to meditate -- to pay attention, purposefully and non-judgmentally, to your experience of the music in the present moment.
