Dance Films + Live Q&A

Goethe Pop Up Seattle is thrilled to be collaborating with renowned choreographic team FLOCK for a journey into the power of dance on screen. This digital show will feature a collection of FLOCK Dance Films and one world premiere! The program will also include behind the scenes discussions with Alice Klock and Florian Lochner (co-directors of FLOCK) as well as a live Q&A with FLOCK, guest artists, and you!

The films on this program were all created during the COVID-19 pandemic. Some were produced through video rehearsals, others live in pods, some even via texting videos back and forth. Alongside the presentation of each film join FLOCK as they discuss the creative processes for each performance and how they have adapted as artists in this complex time.

The program will include:
  • “Sanctuary” - Whidbey Island, WA
  • “Gloaming” - Göteborg, Sweden
  • “TRIO” - Cologne, Germany
  • “NOVA” - with Whim W’Him - Seattle, WA
  • World premiere “Two Adrift"- Havana, Cuba
  • Live Q&A with FLOCK (this will be a separate zoom link).

In all of their work FLOCK strive to build creation environments that are open, dynamic, and based on joy. Their wish is to bring artists together to collaborate in a strong and supportive community. Any artist who participates in FLOCK is not asked to fit into a mold, but is rather asked to fully express and explore their craft in a co-creative setting. This leads to a feeling of care in each creation process and gives collaborators a platform to be themselves and explore their artistry in the most vibrant ways.

RSVP to receive your link to the show and Q&A. The show will take place on YouTube and the Q&A will be a separate zoom link.
