Advice and information

If you think that you meet the language requirements, then you can enroll for an exam. There are no prerequisites - you do not have to have taken a course with the Goethe-Institut in order to enroll! We recommend that you participate in one of our courses, however. During these courses, you will be taught language and examination-specific skills that will make it as easy as possible for you to pass the exam.

Our Examinations

Do you need certification or a diploma for work, study or a visa? Would you like to know the level of your knowledge of German? There are numerous internationally recognised proficiency exams available through our institute.

The overview of Goethe-Institut examination and course levels can tell you which exam is designed for which level. Young Learners exams (A1-B2) take place on regular exam dates. Please contact the Language Office directly to register minors.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Language Office.

Exam Times

Most exams will begin around 10:00-11:30 AM. However, please make yourself available for the entire day of your exam, as this is subject to change on short notice due to the current situation.

Important Documents

Please bring a currently valid photo government ID (such as a passport, driver's license, or other state ID) on the day of the exam.

If you are under 18, a parent or guardian has to be present for the check-in on the day of the exam.
