Featuring: Maren Ade

At the occasion of the New York premiere of Maren Ade's new feature film Toni Erdmann (2016) at the 54th New York Film Festival, the Goethe-Institut presents two earlier films by the acclaimed director.

Maren Ade (b. 1976) is a Berlin-based film director, screenwriter, and producer. She teaches at the Film Academy Baden-Württemberg in Ludwigsburg and is a co-founder of the production company Komplizen Film with Janine Jackowski. Ade is commonly associated with the Berlin School movement in German filmmaking. 

All film screenings listed below are in German with English subtitles and take place at the Goethe-Institut, 30 Irving Place.
