Eva Zöllner presents contemporary accordion music by female composers

In her new program Open the box! as part of Roulette's Interpretations series, Eva Zöllner, a leading player of new accordion music in Germany, presents 20th and 21st century compositions by female composers from different parts of the world. The audience will hear not just the “classics” of the accordion repertoire, but also very recent works by composers of the youngest generation. Eva Zöllner reveals that the accordion is a sensitive, expressive instrument and takes the audience into a world of intimate music and unexpected sounds. The press writes about the program: “The virtuoso highlight was Sofia Gubaidulla’s dirge De Profundis. With her whole body, accordionist Eva Zöllner demonstrated the possibilities of her often-underestimated instrument, from exclamation to exhalation, eliciting cries of ‘Bravo!’”
