Objectified (2018), 75 minutes, produced and directed by Gary Hustwit

On July 13, join us for a feature-length documentary about the complex relationship between our lives and manufactured objects and by extension, the people who design those. Is there anything we can learn about us, who we are and who we want to be, by taking a look at the objects we use in everyday life?

Objectified shows the creative processes of some of the world’s most influential product designers and how their work and designs impact our daily life, for example in toothbrushes or alarm clocks. It is about the designers and their creativity and thought processes behind the products they design. It depicts personal expression, identity, consumerism and sustainability while talking about manufactured products.

This documentary gives an unprecedented insight into the thought process and work of the featured designers. Asking the questions: who makes the objects, why do they look and feel the way they do and how can their design influence our lives?
