It is very complicated to determine how much our biology influences our gendered behavior, as we are socialized into gender roles beginning at a very young age. Gender equality is mostly discussed from women´s perspective, whereas it is a crucial men´s issue too. In the same manner, toxic masculinity is not just a men´s issue – its consequences are pervasive and affect everyone, including girls and women. Hence, it is of utmost importance to make raise every boy gender equitable, whereby teachers, parents and mentors play an important role in shaping up an adolescent.
Further to this, the project "How to tackle the topic with youngsters" will highlight the factors that shape and influence young men and their perspectives which lead to their masculine performativity. The project is an approach to gender roles through game theory, gamification elements as also sociological perspectives.
