Meet the Author

Under Literary Discussions, we have been organizing “Meet the author” events. On 8th December 2022, we had the German author Mr. Christopher Kloeble in discussion with the famous Tamil author and screenplay writer Mr. Jeyamohan. Following the success of this event, from 2023 this event has become a monthly event, wherein authors discuss their books, read excerpts from their works along with interactions exploring their literary contributions.

The series started on Wednesday, 25th January 2023 at 6pm with the German Author Ms. Helene Bukowski. She discussed with Indian environmental activist Mr. Arun Krishnamurthy her book “Milk Teeth” wherein she had explored the strange dystopic world, climatic migration and environmental degradation.

In the month of February, we had Ms. Monica Cantieni, a swiss author conduct a workshop on “Impossible friendships: True and Invented Stories” that became a master trainer class for aspiring writers. The event was a part of the regional project called “Once Upon a Tomorrow” which explored the changing narratives in storytelling, with special emphasis on inclusive storytelling.

UK based author Ms. Sindhu Rajasekaran specializes in inclusive writing and her book “Smashing the Patriarchy” explores queer South Asian pasts, creative epistemologies & queer decolonial storytelling. On 9th February she interacted with students of WCC about her book and also took a creative writing workshop for PG students of Madras University.
