Important Information

In light of the rapidly evolving COVID 19 situation, the Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan Kolkata is shut for visitors / students till further notice. All physical classes, registrations for physical classes and non-online registration for examinations, and programmes are postponed till further notice.

From 30th March 2020 till further notice all language courses will be offered as online courses.

Our library is partly open for returning and borrowing materials from 16 November 2020, based on prior appointment only. All materials issued before the lockdown can now be returned. You are also allowed to borrow materials from the library.
Days: Wednesdays and Thursdays
Time: 11.00 am to 1.00 pm
           3.00 pm to 5.00 pm 


While the team of Goethe-Institut Kolkata will work in home-office, we kindly ask for your understanding that there may be delays. We will reply to your message as soon as possible.

Due to the unpredictable situation of the COVID 19 though, we are not in a position to give any dates for classroom courses or programmes yet.

As the world is now gripped with the Syrian refugee crisis and debates rage on their acceptance in various countries in Europe, it may be the right time to look back into some of the biggest refugee crises and human migration in recent history. The debates centre mostly around the broader theme of what impact the refugees would have if they are allowed to settle in a particular society.

Residency
Indo-European Residency Kolkata

Despite the current situation, the members of the EUNIC Cluster of Kolkata managed to organise their first meeting and officially launched the project of the next Indo-European Residency Kolkata with the fifth country joining hands to bring the best of artists. Alliance Française du Bengale, Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan Kolkata, British Council Kolkata and CIMA welcome the Consulate General of Italy. Looking forward to the project after the present situation betters. Till then stay healthy!
