Triparna Maiti is a filmmaker, illustrator and a writer based out of Kolkata, India. She is an alumna of the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI), Kolkata with specialization in Animation Cinema. She has worked on multiple independent projects for clients including Amazon Prime, Netflix, Unilever and HCL. Rooted in personal and cultural memory, her storytelling practice explores themes of identity, gender, and sexual expression. Her short film Neer (Water) has been an official selection at various prestigious festivals like Anifilm in Czech Republic, Monstra in Lisbon, Filmschool Fest Munich and the Oscar qualifying BISFF in India. Her debut feature animated film, currently in development, has been part of the NFDC Screenwriters Lab and selected for leading international markets such as Mifa Annecy, the Asian Project Market in Busan, and the Hong Kong Asia Film Forum. She is the founder of Flying Turtle Studios, a boutique animation studio based in Mumbai.
