The Goethe-Institut is looking for a full time (40 Hours / week) committed employee from 01.01.2026 or later (initially limited until 31.12.2026).

The Goethe-Institut is the Federal Republic of Germany’s cultural institute, active worldwide whose aims are to promote knowledge of the German language abroad, to foster international cultural cooperation and to convey a comprehensive image of Germany by providing information on cultural, social, and political life.
 

In coordination with the Head of Administration & Finance, your main responsibilities as an OFFICE TECHNICIAN will include:
  • Set-up of the entire AV system (audio- and video-conference equipment, microphones, video cameras, audio systems, LED monitors and projectors etc.) and light-equipment as per specifications given by the respective departments for various events (onsite, online and hybrid)
  • Installation of exhibitions as per specifications given by the respective departments
  • Provide best onsite, online and hybrid support during the event
  • Coordinate with partners and vendors
  • Coordinate with the exam department for digital as well as paper-based exams and other special exams that may be conducted from time to time
  • Regular coordination with the IT coordinator regarding software updates, Internet connection, EPABX system, CCTV system etc.
  • Maintenance of inventory and ensuring that all inventory is in good working order and condition
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance checks of the inventory and do the needful such as repairs, replacement of faulty cables, purchase of electrical material etc.
  • Coordinate with House Supervisor regarding Fire Alarm System etc. and supervise housekeeping and any other job required for the upkeep of the office
  • Knowledge of IT cabling
  • Knowledge of electrical connections, electrical items, load, and supply
  • Any other administrative job assigned by management.
Requirements:
  • Ability to prepare, set, supervise and operate mid to higher-level AV-equipment in various events without supervision
  • Excellent knowledge of all audio connectors, cables, and adaptors
  • Excellent knowledge of wired/wireless microphone placement and set up
  • Excellent knowledge of analog and digital consoles (Sound & light)
  • Proven work experience as an event technician
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload
  • Good digital skills and knowledge 
  • Decent speaking and writing skills in English, Bengali and Hindi
  • Flexibility and readiness to work under pressure, for extended hours and on weekends, when required
  • Readiness to update knowledge as per technological upgrade
  • Graduation or an equivalent degree for the required job duties
  • Ability to work in team
