Intersections & Interventions: Barwe & Klee
Public Opening: 26 September 2025
On view until: 16th March 2026
Venue: Zapurza Museum of Art and Culture, Pune
The exhibition Intersections & Interventions: Barwe & Klee invites audiences to explore global modernisms through a unique dialogue between the Indian artist Prabhakar Barwe and Swiss-German artist Paul Klee.
Opening on 26th September 2025 at the Zapurza Museum of Art and Culture in Pune, the show presents Barwe’s paintings and sculptures from the museum’s collection, alongside high-quality facsimiles of Klee’s works produced in collaboration with our project partner, the Zentrum Paul Klee in Bern. Since Klee’s works are too fragile to travel, the presentation offers a timely reminder of how, throughout the 20th century, magazines and reproductions served as the main channels for artists across continents to discover and learn from one another.
Far from a conclusion, this exhibition marks another step in our ongoing journey of learning and exchange. Throughout its run, the show will be animated with public programs, including activities for families, events, and workshops.
The exhibition has been organised in cooperation with Zapurza Museum of Art and Culture, Pune and the Zentrum Paul Klee, Bern.
