Youth Camps

In an increasingly interconnected world, intercultural encounters are a central component of modern education. Youth camps offer young German learners the opportunity to immerse themselves in the language and culture beyond the classroom, gain new perspectives, and form international friendships.

What are youth camps?

The Goethe-Institut organises camps lasting several days, aimed at school pupils learning German as a foreign language. The camps combine creative workshops, cultural activities and interactive learning formats with the aim of improving language skills and fostering intercultural competence.

We organise:
  • Youth camps in various locations across India, with school pupils from all over India
  • Youth camps in the South Asian region, with school pupils from India and other countries in the region
  • Youth camps in Germany, with school pupils from all over the world
The Goethe-Institut responsible for your school invites eligible schools to apply and provides information on the terms and conditions for participating in the respective camp.

Objectives of the youth camps

  • Building self-awareness, independence and self-confidence
  • Developing intercultural skills
  • Promoting and practising German language skills
  • Motivating participants to learn German
  • Fostering a positive emotional connection between Germany and India
  • Supporting the establishment of school partnerships
Teachers are warmly invited to encourage their pupils and support them in taking part.
