Opening of the exhibition Symbiotic Cohabitation

Exhibition Opening|An evening celebrating a tapestry of art, environment, and traditional wisdom in the very heart of Kolkata.

The programme is part of the event-series presented around the exhibition SYMBIOTIC COHABITATION presented at the Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan Kolkata and is co-created with the Disappearing Dialogues Collective and the East Kolkata Wetlands community. The exhibition unveils a poignant narrative on the vulnerable state of East Kolkata Wetlands (EKW) and the urgent need for societal awareness. It is an outcome of the long-term engagement and co-creation of the collective with the EKW community.

The programme will include exploring a forgotten harmony between human and nature - a space of art, ecology, and community.

PROGRAMME SCHEDULE
  • A Brief overview of the immersive experience by Nobina Gupta, Founder of Disappearing DC and conceptualiser / conceiver of the exhibition.
  • A Captivating student performance.
  • A guided walk through the House of Cohabitation and the wetland herbarium.
  • Culinary delights from the East Kolkata Wetlands community.
  • Discovering the local community store, The Disappearing Dialogues Dokan.

The exhibition will be showcased till 29 February 2024 from 11:00 am to 6:30 pm daily (excluding Sundays and Public Holidays)
