Discussions and Talks around the theme of empowerment will be curated by Vinutha Mallya during the course of the exhibition. These will dwell on issues that are current and relevant including ‘Women in art and entertainment’, focussing on the Hema Committee report based on the exploitation of women in the Kerala film industry; planetary feminisms, how feminism and the climate crisis are intertwined; and questions of identity, citizenship and plurality in India today.

Vinutha Mallya is a journalist, editor and teacher with over twenty years of experience across news media and book publishing. She is a visiting faculty of Journalism at FLAME University, Pune, before which she was editorial chief at the People’s Archive of Rural India (PARI). She has written for publications in India and abroad and she also serves as a consultant to independent publishing companies and organisations.
