Frank Künster is a bouncer, club owner, film producer, and actor. He was born in 1966 in Lahr, in the Black Forest of Baden-Württemberg. He grew up in Herzhausen and graduated from the Institut Schloss Wittgenstein in 1988. After finishing military service, he moved to Berlin in November 1989. Initially he studied Business Administration at the Free University of Berlin, but left his studies as he became drawn to the Berlin nightlife instead. In 1994 he began bouncing and sharing ownership in the Berlin club Delicious Doughnuts, and by 1997 he was the head manager of the club. In 2003, his documentary film Let It Rock premiered at the Berlinale in the category Perspektive Deutsches Kino. The film depicted the conditions of subcultures in Berlin during the decade after the fall of the wall. Since then, he has owned several successful nightclubs in Berlin and pursued a number of artistic avenues.
