The programme “Pristina Has No River” began in 2013. There was a call for applications, and about thirty writers and translators applied. The jury selected five people for participation in the literary residency.

One residency was sponsored by the Goethe-Institut, three others by the Traduki and another by the S. Fischer Foundation. The aim of the programme is to enliven the literary scene, establish relations within the countries of the region for the support and fostering of literature in the western Balkans and to create cultural multipliers and mediators with a view to providing information and knowledge for the promotion and funding of literature.
