Nowadays, digital media have become an integral part of teaching. The COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the exploration and implementation of these diverse digital tools. At the same time, dealing with heterogeneity, especially in the language classroom, remains an ongoing challenge. Although learners in India often share similar cultural backgrounds, there are significant differences in learning styles and performance.
This paper explores the potential of digital tools to bridge these differences in performance and promote individualised teaching. It aims to develop strategies that make it possible to organise lessons in such a way that they offer a variety of content and methodological learning paths for each participant. Special attention is paid to the individuality of learners.
Through the targeted use of digital media, individual learning paths can be supported more effectively, learner motivation can be increased and the learning process can be organised more flexibly. It is emphasised that the focus should not be on the tools themselves, but on the pedagogical intention to respond to the specific needs of individual learners.
The workshop will present selected digital tools that have proven to be particularly effective in designing differentiated lessons for heterogeneous groups. These tools open up new possibilities for an interactive and inclusive learning environment in which learners can actively participate in lesson design. Although the initial implementation of these methods may require additional preparation time, it promises more efficient and effective teaching practice in the long term. This approach not only promotes individual learning progress, but also prepares students for the increasingly digitalised world of education and work.
