In our library, you will find a diverse collection of current print and audiovisual media aimed at highlighting contemporary trends and topics in Germany. Our English-language titles provide non-German speakers the opportunity to learn about German literature, culture, society, politics, and current affairs. We also focus on our collection of materials for "German as a Foreign Language," catering to both learners and teachers. For individuals planning to study or work in Germany, we offer up-to-date resources and information on living and working in the country.

The library offers:

• German-language literature and non-fiction books
• English translations of German literature
• English-language non-fiction books about Germany, Europe, and Indo-German relations
• Learning materials for German as a Foreign Language
• Newspapers and magazines from Germany
• Board games for learning German and entertainment
• German feature films and documentaries on DVD, mostly with English subtitles
• German audiobooks and radio plays on CD

The library is open to the public for anyone interested in using the books and media on-site or seeking information about Germany.

The charges for a library membership are:

• Annual Membership: INR 1200
• 6-monthly Membership: INR 700

Please note that currently, only cash payments are accepted.

Library membership is complimentary for participants of language courses at the Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan New Delhi, as well as for those enrolled in online courses at any Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan in India, for the duration of their respective courses.

Students pursuing German language studies at universities and teachers of German at schools and universities in Delhi may also use the library free of charge, provided they present the necessary documentation upon registration and renewal.

You can register via our web form or through our free library app, BibToGo. To complete the registration process, please visit the library within four weeks of registering, present a photo ID (e.g., passport, driver's license, voter card, UID/Aadhaar card), and pay the membership fee, unless you are exempt. You will then receive a digital library card via our BibToGo app.

LIBRARY ONLINE REGISTRATION

Members can borrow up to 10 items per person (maximum of 3 language learning materials and 3 DVDs). The loan period for all media is three weeks.

You can extend the loan period via the BibToGo app, your online library account, E-Mail, or telephone. Please note that extensions are not available for language learning materials or if the media has been pre-ordered.

You can browse our library's online catalog 24/7 to explore our collection of books, magazines, CDs, DVDs, and electronic resources.

As a library member, you can log-in in our online catalog. Personalized use of the OPAC offers several advantages:

• View the media you have borrowed, including due dates
• Extend your loan periods
• Check outstanding and paid fees
• Submit acquisition suggestions for the library's collection
• Comment on media
• Review the media you have borrowed in the past

These features are available not only in the online catalog on our website but also in our BibToGo app, which also includes a digital library card, media recommendations, and access to our free digital library, Onleihe.
