Mangshong wui Mi is an interactive zine workshop that meets dreaming and storytelling as an act of resistance and care. In an interconnected world that aspires for intersectionality, we borrow speaking of dreams from communities that rely on oral traditions. The workshop will explore zine making as a safe space for speaking and listening to our nocturnal experiences.

ishi, meaning “us” in the Tangkhul language, is a cultural platform bridging the gap between the past and the present through an experimental bilingual (Tangkhul-English) magazine. The platform borrows its inspiration from the pedagogy of Longshim, a dormitory-like institution in the Tangkhul Naga culture for the youth where traditional forms of education took place through interaction, story-telling and dialogue. Contextualising to contemporary times, the publication explores narratives of indigeneity, preservation of ancestral practices and the changing landscape of tribal communities with an art and visual narrative-based approach. Beyond the magazine ishi experiments with workshops, book reading and interactive games.
