Evolution is everlasting. Books have changed and adapted to the new period and generation in this ever-changing phenomenon of the universe. Traditional book festivals must evolve to usher in a new age of literary celebrations. These festivals, which embrace innovation, diversity, and sustainability, satisfy the different requirements of a worldwide audience, representing a dynamic transformation in the continuous story of literary appreciation. World Book Day in Pune is a pioneering celebration that embodies the essence of changing times. A similar interactive event will take place for the newly launched book ‘Skater Girl – Asha’ by Ulrike Reinhard followed by a thought-provoking discussion based on the same.

Skater Girl – Asha is the story of how Asha, a tribal girl from the bottom of India's society, courageously broke with convention and has been shaping her own life ever since. According to her own rules. Today, Asha is a strong voice and a role model for all the girls in her village of Janwaar – and far beyond. This true and touching story should motivate young people all over the world to believe in themselves and find their own voice, just like Asha. The book is based on Ms. Reinhard’s eight years of work in Janwaar.

Please join us for an evening filled with scintillating interactions, discussions and Q/A and get a chance to experience the story through Asha’s eyes!
