Tarun Balani Quartet is a contemporary jazz ensemble led by drummer and composer Tarun Balani, featuring Sonja Ott (trumpet, Switzerland), Siddharth Gautam (guitar, India), and Luke Marantz (piano, USA). Together, they craft immersive soundscapes that fuse jazz, improvisation, electronic textures, and global traditions.
Rooted in cross-cultural collaboration, their music explores existing themes of climate change, migration, and identity. Their latest album, Kadahin Milandaasin (BERTHOLD Records, 2025), blends Sindhi folk traditions with modern jazz, offering a moving reflection on heritage, memory, and belonging. This concert will mark the launch of the album in Kolkata.
