The lecture will reflect different positions of art and of artistic work which can be read as resitent against political power; against injustice and inhumanity. In this context the actual exhibition - that is works of Otto Dix, Hannah Höch, Joseph Beuys, Gerhard Richter and Günther Uecker - will be regarded.

Artworks do have precious potencials to express ideas and to formulate of possibilities of living together - just today. The works called in the lecture are excellent examples for this. 


Wiebke Trunk hatte zunächst Bühnen- und Kostümbild an der Akadmie der Bildenden Künste in Stuttgart studiert, bevor sie sich der Kunstwissenschaft zuwandte. Nach dem Abschluss eines Kunstgeschichts - und Philosophiestudiums an den Universitäten Stuttgart und Würzburg engagiert sie sich heute vor allem im Feld zeitgemäßer Kunstvermittlung/- pädagogik. Sie ist seit 2014 Wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin an der Carl von Ossietzky Universität in Oldenburg. Schwerpunkt ihrer Forschung ist die Untersuchung der Verbindung von Kunst und Politik im Nationalsozialismus.
