Unbound Trajectories of the Future

Call for Artists & Creative Practitioners

For the past three decades, since the early '90s, the Goethe-Institut Georgia has consistently collaborated with the dynamic, yet often controversial creative and cultural scene in Georgia. As we celebrate our 30th anniversary of being present in the country, we invite artists to explore the future of the Goethe-Institut and its work. How could you envision the conceptual realm and future trajectory of the institution within Georgia over the next 30 years? By using temporal, spatial, and conceptual lenses we encourage participants to present and share their visions and utopian ideas looking at what might be possible along those next years. Thus, forming an atlas of the future, we would like to spark ideas that explore technological, environmental, and social developments. Alongside artists and creative practitioners, how can the Goethe-Institut Georgien navigate shifting realities while maintaining our commitment to artistic freedom and cultural exchange, facilitating dialogue, and understanding among diverse communities, and surpass limitations to promote meaningful bonds within the cultural landscape of the future.

The Goethe–Institut provides a collaborative platform by launching this open call and opens its doors and resources for the creative endeavours. Through this process, our goal is to cultivate a space for shared inquiry, where diverse perspectives come together to shape the evolving narrative of the institution.

Curator: Giorgi Spanderashvili.

The exhibition is scheduled to open on 28th of June, 2024 at the Goethe - Institut Georgien.
