The TestDaF is a language test at an advanced level. It covers levels B2 to C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

You can take the TestDaF on six fixed dates each year.

The TestDaF consists of four parts. Your language skills are assessed separately in the skills of reading, listening, writing and speaking.

Result

The three TestDaF levels (TDN) 3, 4 and 5 correspond to levels B2 to C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). The TestDaF level determines which university programmes you can access.

Requirements

The TestDaF is a language test that is used to determine whether you have the language skills required to study at a German university. It is aimed at students and prospective students, but it is also an internationally recognised proof of your German language skills for scientific projects and academic professions. Language skills at least at level B2 are required.
