1. POSITION AT POSITION AT LANGUAGE DEPARTMENT AT THE GOETHE-INSTITUT PUNE

We are seeking a dedicated colleague at the Goethe-Institut Pune, a full-time position (40 hours/week) to start on 1.08.2026, or later as Coordinator Language Courses & Examinations with compensation in accordance with the local compensation scheme of the Goethe-Institut in India.

The Goethe-Institut e.V. is an organization funded by the Federal Republic of Germany. Our goals are to promote knowledge of the German language abroad, to foster international cultural cooperation, and to convey a comprehensive picture of Germany through information about its cultural, social, and political life.

Here’s what you can expect:

  • Customer management and consultation
  • Assisting with the organization of events for course participants
  • Enrollment for language courses and exams, and participant management in OSKA
  • Managing the customer inbox
  • Assisting with the organizational and technical preparation and administration of exams at the Goethe-Institut Pune and off-site (exam trips)
  • Other general administrative tasks such as preliminary account assignment, statistics, coordination with the administration, and correspondence in German and English
  • Additional responsibilities as agreed upon with the managers of the language course and exam operations or the head of language programs
What sets you apart:
  • A college degree or equivalent qualification
  • Experience in administrative work
  • Knowledge of and proficiency in all common MS Office products, as well as a willingness to learn new software; familiarity with the Goethe-Institut’s OSKA participant management system and DOXIS administrative tools are a plus
  • Fluent in English; German proficiency at least at the B2 level; written and spoken knowledge of Marathi
  • Customer-oriented
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interact confidently with a diverse range of people
  • Ability to work under pressure, high reliability, and the ability to work well in a team
  • Willingness to travel for work and to be flexible with working hours

2. POSITION AT ADMINISTRATION AT THE GOETHE-INSTITUT PUNE

We are seeking a dedicated colleague to start on 01.09.2026; full-time position, compensation in accordance with the local pay scale

The Goethe-Institut e.V. is an organization funded by the Federal Republic of Germany. Our goals are to promote knowledge of the German language abroad, to foster international cultural cooperation, and to convey a comprehensive picture of Germany through information about its cultural, social, and political life.

Here’s what you can expect:

  • Administrative support for documents, cheques, accounting transactions and Bank-Transfers
  • Pre-accounting of operating expenses
  • Regular Communication with all departments for Vendor payments
  • Regular Cash Accounting for Junior Staff.
  • Regular Communication with Booking Centre at Goethe-Institut New Delhi for all bookings.
  • Backend data entry (TDS) and account reconciliations
  • Preparation and thorough checking of Payment Transfer CSV files
  • Procurement support - liaising and negotiating with suppliers
  • Proper filing of files - administration
  • Regular communication with tax consultants
  • Yearly Documents Checking and updating during Year End (December).
  • General administrative tasks, especially travel expenses claim and pay slips
  • Any other additional duties assigned by department head.
What sets you apart:
  • Completed university degree (preferably in Commerce)
  • Very good language skills, also in writing, in German (B1), English, Hindi and Marathi
  • Basic knowledge of administration and accounting
  • Very good knowledge of digital office software, including Microsoft (365)
  • Structured way of working and strong organizational skills
  • Flexibility and ability to work in a team
  • Knowledge about Indian tax system would be of added advantage
  • Ability to work under pressure and intercultural competence
