Main Banner KB © Zentrum Paul Klee

The project aims to bring two artists and their artistic as well as pictorial and pedagocical ideas into an exciting dialogue: Prabhakar Barwe (1936-1995), artist of the second wave of Indian modernism based in Maharashtra, and Paul Klee (1879-1940), a Swiss-German modern artist and teacher at the Bauhaus School in the 1920s in Germany.

The exhibition has been organised in cooperation with Zapurza Museum of Art & Culture, Pune and the Zentrum Paul Klee, Bern.

Events

  • 26.09.2025, 12:00 (IST), Zapurza Museum of Art & Culture, Pune

    Exhibition Opening

For the first time, the works of Prabhakar Barwe (1936–1995) and Paul Klee (1879–1940) enter into dialogue. Though separated by time and geography, both artists explored abstraction through painting, drawing, and writing, asking how art relates to nature, the world, and the self. This exhibition invites you to observe, contemplate, and discover—what echoes and divergences connect these two modernist voices, and what can each reveal about the other?
