Professional development in Germany

The Goethe-Institut conducts around 90 professional development seminars in 18 German cities every year for non-native German speakers who teach German as well as teacher trainers and educators.

This professional development program is intended exclusively for German teachers and trainers/educators of German teachers who do not work in Germany and who meet the language prerequisites.

The professional development seminars in Germany are named for four different focal areas:

Learning the language	Type PL/DL
Experiencing and teaching "Landeskunde": Germany, its society and culture	Type L
Teaching the language – methodology and didactics of "DaF": German as a foreign language	Type MD
Expanding professional development competencies	Type F
