The Last Sunset is an immersive dance-theatre performance that explores the negative effects of burning fossil fuels on human health and the environment through a futuristic dystopian lens. The performance will premiere in a non-traditional venue - the Regional Landfill for Non-Hazardous Waste in Gabrovo in May 2022. The project is a part of the official program of the 25th edition of the Gabrovo Biennial of Humour and Satire under the theme of "Economy of Means", in partnership with the House of Humour and Satire Museum, Greenpeace Bulgaria, and Environmental Association "For the Earth".
Co-directed by Kosta Karakashyan, Antonia Georgieva, and Diego de la Rosa and co-choreographed by Karakashyan and de la Rosa, “The Last Sunset” strongly involves the means of contemporary dance on one hand, and on the other - evolves the concept through an immersive theatre approach. The collaboration of de la Rosa and Frantics Dance Company in the project plays a significant part in building a new dance feel within the choreography through his signature style.
