Welcome to the English pages of JETZT Deutsch lernen (Learning German now with jetzt.de). JETZT Deutsch lernen is a cooperative project between the Goethe Institute Germany and the Justus Liebig University Giessen, Germany. Its aim is the creation and research of an online learning environment for intermediate and advanced learners of German as a Foreign Language. It focuses on the development of reading and listening/viewing skills and creative writing. The tasks and exercises are based on articles from the online youth magazine jetzt.de (of the German newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung) and on accompanying video sequences produced by the project team. Interactive components are discussion boards, a tutored language learning chat and an online wiki writing workshop which allow learners worldwide to communicate with each other and with native speakers of German in and outside of Germany.

Since this project is directed at learners of German as a Foreign Language and their teachers, regretfully, you will find that the following pages have not been translated into English.
