Since 2003 fans of the Union Berlin football club have been gathering in the stadium the day before Christmas Eve to sing Christmas carols. Carols like Kling, Glöckchen (“Ring, Little Bell”), Alle Jahre wieder (“Every Year Again”) and O Tannenbaum (“Oh Christmas tree”) are also sung in German homes over the holidays. They form part of a centuries-old yuletide tradition.
